- Custom 3D sweep engine: the profile follows a clicked polyline through level changes and stair flights, not only flat, planar loops.
- "Detect floor and place" / "Detect ceiling and place" - one click on a face traces its outer boundary and builds a single closed run with every corner mitred.
- 24 built-in profiles: 12 skirting (flat, chamfered, modern, soft round, tapered, shadow gap, stepped, single and double groove, ogee, beaded, colonial) and 12 cornice (plain, bevel, cove, step, double step, ogee, crown, LED channel, S-curve, dentil, wave, shadow reveal).
- Custom sections from ASCII DXF: LWPOLYLINE, POLYLINE, LINE, ARC, CIRCLE and bulge arcs, with DXF units read automatically (unitless treated as mm), 90-degree rotate, flip and live preview.
- Two clicks on a segment mark a gap - a door opening under skirting, a column or beam break under cornice - and it is subtracted from both the geometry and the CSV quantities.
- Runs stay parametric: select one and change profile, dimensions or material in the panel and the model rebuilds; each create or update collapses into a single Undo step, with parameters, path and gaps kept in the group's DynamicSkirting attribute dictionary.
- Cornice mode relabels the dimensions as wall drop and ceiling projection (adjustable up to 300 mm) with Slim, Balanced, Classic and Ornate presets.
- Render-correct UV mapping: textured materials are applied per face with the long face axis as UV-U, so grain and pattern run along the length instead of across it.
- While drawing, the tool locks onto imported DWG/CAD plan lines within roughly 24 screen pixels, highlights the followed line in magenta and warns in the status bar when the two ends sit at different levels.
- Error console keeps the last 100 errors and warnings with timestamp, backtrace, profile and 3D path points, copyable to clipboard; the built-in System check runs profile rigidity, stair transition, UV, gap, corner-mitre and take-off tests on temporary geometry and rolls them back with abort_operation, leaving nothing behind in the model.

Before you ask
SketchUp 2024, 2025 and 2026. This is enforced in code, not just written on the box: at startup the plugin reads both the marketing year and SketchUp's internal version number, and it blocks model generation on 23.x and earlier or on 27.x builds, so you get a clear message instead of half-built geometry. Interface language (Turkish, English, Spanish) is a separate choice stored in your SketchUp preferences rather than in the model, so it follows you from file to file.
None of those. It is a one-off 25 USD purchase for the .rbz package (the current build is dynamic_skirting-1.3.2.rbz, the 48th release in the line), installed the normal way through Window > Extension Manager > Install Extension. Everything runs locally inside SketchUp - no cloud account, no seat server, no connection needed while you draw. Distribution through SketchUp's own signing portal is in progress, so if your SketchUp is set to "identified extensions only" you may need to allow unsigned extensions until that lands.
Three honest ones. DXF is import-only and only for profile cross-sections (ASCII DXF, five entity types) - it does not read DWG or SKP sections. CSV is the only export; there is no XLSX, IFC or cut-list output yet. And it builds what you point it at: it detects the perimeter of the face you click or the path you draw, it does not walk a whole building unattended. Smaller ceilings: cornice ceiling projection tops out at 300 mm, and the error console keeps the most recent 100 entries.
