PanelCut Studio

Never draw the same panel twice

Build the carcass or import a DXF, and PanelCut nests it, adds kerf and edge banding, then exports both the machine DXF and the dimensioned shop drawing.

  • 236 checks green
  • 2 nesting engines
  • 25 validation rules

  1. 01

    Draw It Once.

One carcass, or one imported contour, feeds the nesting, the cut list, the machine DXF and the dimensioned shop drawing.

  2. 02

    Change It Anytime.

Move a thickness, a kerf, a joint mode. The layout, the labels and both DXF files come back correct - your part notes stay put.

  3. 03

    Every Allowance, Computed.

Saw kerf, edge banding, V-groove unfolding, K-factor bends - computed. 25 rules stop a bad sheet before anyone cuts it.

The technical bit

For the people who read the manual first.

  • Parametric carcass: sides, top, bottom, back, up to 8 vertical dividers, shelves and an optional front panel, with between/over joint mode and a back panel that overlays, insets, sits in a groove, or is left off.
  • Net size and cut size stay separate - saw kerf, edge-trim allowance and edge banding set per edge, alongside quantity, material, rotation permission and notes. Production data is keyed to the part, so your edits survive the next geometry rebuild.
  • Two nesting engines chosen by cutting method: shelf (guillotine-safe, for panel saws) and MaxRects (free cutting, for routers). Four sort orders are tried and the best kept, rotation locks on directional surfaces, trapezoid twins are matched mirrored. Presets included: 3 wood sheets (2100x2800, 1830x3660, 2070x2800 mm), 8 aluminium composite sheets (1000x3200 up to 2000x6000 mm), 9 thickness steps from 1 to 6 mm, parts from 50 to 6000 mm.
  • True polygon unfolding for composite cassettes, rectangular and trapezoidal: 90/105/135 degree V-grooves and L-groove, double bends, mitre / square / rivet-ear corners, and automatic splitting of oversize cassettes so the joint falls on a reveal. Facade wind load and panel stress come from the TS 498 table with B-coefficient interpolation, thermal expansion at 2.4 mm/m/100K.
  • Sheet-metal module with K-factor: bend allowance, OSSB and bend deduction (1.0 mm default, 0.5-2.5 mm range), inside or outside measurement side, and a live flat-pattern calculator.
  • 25 validation rules plus 10 unfolding rules on a three-level issue list. A critical error blocks the production export and stamps the report as not fit for production.
  • DXF R12 twice from one model - the nested sheet for the machine, a dimensioned technical sheet for the bench - on SHEET / PARTS / HOLES / GROOVE / FOLD / MITRE / TEXT layers, with true contours instead of bounding boxes and optional cutting bridges. PDF, CSV, SVG, GLB and glTF come out of the same data.
  • DXF import that copes with real drawings: LINE, LWPOLYLINE with bulge arcs, legacy POLYLINE/VERTEX, ARC, CIRCLE, ELLIPSE, approximated SPLINE and INSERT blocks. Scattered edges are chained into closed contours, inner loops become holes, units are read from $INSUNITS, and a preview of parts, holes, open chains and layers with per-layer toggles comes before anything lands.
  • Five 3D views - assembly, translucent, exploded, unfolded, single part - beside a 2D SVG sheet layout. Click a part in the model and it selects in the table, and back again. Dimensions on the technical drawing are click-editable.
  • Fully client-side: project data never leaves the browser. Projects save as .pcs.json files with a separate local autosave per product page, the interface is Turkish and English, and 236 automated acceptance checks run green (132 core, 50 DXF import, 21 sheet metal, 12 htpasswd, 21 licence).
