    Two Clicks, One Stair.

Start point, direction, floor height in the VCB. Treads, stringer, railing and numbered labels arrive as one component.

  2. 02

    The Code Checks Itself.

44 rule IDs run live while you set the stair. Anything off turns red or yellow, and one click pulls it back into line.

  3. 03

    Change It, Print It.

Reopen the component, change one number, and the stair rebuilds in a single Ctrl+Z. Riser schedule and cut list export themselves.

  • Eight stair forms plus an accessible ramp: straight, L-turn, U-turn, centre-spine spiral, curved-stringer circular, cantilevered/floating and fire escape - each a card you click, not a setting you hunt for.
  • Regulation engine with 44 rule IDs in the R-01..R-73 range, written to Planli Alanlar Imar Yonetmeligi Md.32/36, TS 9111, BYKHY, DIN 51130, EN 1991-1-1 and TBDY; red and yellow badges appear as you type, and one click makes the stair compliant.
  • Calculator core solves n = ceil(H/a_max), a = H/n, b = 630 - 2a, drops an intermediate landing automatically past 16 risers, and checks 2100 mm stairwell headroom while solving slab thickness.
  • Eight building-class presets - villa, housing, public, with lift, accessible, fire, exterior, service - each swapping the limits the engine enforces.
  • Winder engine with three profiles (pole, quarter-circle, proportional) that never lets the inner tread edge fall under 100 mm and raises the winder count from 8 to 12 on its own.
  • Five structural systems (RC sloped soffit at t = max(120, L/25), steel stringer, timber, wall-anchored cantilever with a hidden steel sleeve, single-spine mono-stringer), five finishes and five railing types, including the 700/900 double handrail for the accessible class.
  • Placement happens in the model: first click sets the start, second the direction, Tab flips the side, arrows change the turn, the VCB takes the floor height, and the upper slab is detected for H.
  • Identical parts are deduplicated into shared component definitions by MD5 signature, so editing one tread updates every matching tread - and a parameter change regenerates the whole stair in one Ctrl+Z.
  • HTML print report (R-code compliance table, riser schedule, cut list, engineering notes), CSV cut-list export, and a 9:16 assembly animation rendered to H.264 MP4 through ffmpeg with a pure-Ruby MJPEG-AVI fallback.
  • No external gems: its own pure-Ruby solid kernel and zip builder, a 30-riser stair with railing solids in under a second, 114 tests green, and a built-in error console logging to Plugins\stairfun_log.txt.

Shipped, and what is next.

Shipped

  • Phases 0-10 complete: eight stair forms, the accessible ramp and all five structural systems build from the panel
  • Regulation engine live in the model - 44 R-codes badged as you change a parameter, with a one-click compliance fixer and eight building-class presets
  • Parts became real geometry: shared component definitions by MD5 signature, connection fittings, per-tread edge chamfer and the mono-stringer spine (v1.0.12)
  • 9:16 assembly animation with a constant-speed 360 degree orbit, H.264 MP4 through ffmpeg and a pure-Ruby AVI fallback, rendered asynchronously with progress and cancel
  • Licence layer removed in v1.0.2, built-in error console with a log file next to the plugin, 114 tests green across calc, gen and build specs

Next

  • Own solid-boolean stairwell cut, so the slab opening works without SketchUp Pro's solid tools
  • Menu and toolbar titles that switch language without restarting SketchUp
  • Rule presets for codes outside Turkey, and a third interface language alongside Turkish and English
